BOKS BALL RULES
1. PLAYING AREA AND LINE-UP
- 12 x 20 m taraflex-based field, which is completely enclosed by glass walls and a net roof
- 170 x 125 cm net goals embedded in both ends
- 2 teams, each with 3 field players and a goalkeeper inside the cube at a time. Optimal number of players is 6-9 + goalie / team
2. GAME EQUIPMENT AND USE
- Floorball sticks and ball, as well as floorball goalkeeper equipment
- Floorball rules apply in all aspects, except for penalty practices and that the stick can be used at hip height
3. GAME TIME AND GAME FLOW
- 2 x 5-minute periods with effective game time. If the period ends in a draw, it continues to a sudden death decision. Two set wins are required to win the match. If the periods end in a draw 1-1, then the winner is decided by an additional sudden death decision
- At the start, players may be in any playing area. The opening is made by the referee throwing the ball into the separator
- Walls and ceilings may be used freely and are normally part of the game area.
- The goalkeeper may be passed to at any time and from anywhere, in which case the goalkeeper must put the ball into play within one second of taking possession.
Note: the goalkeeper may be in any area of the field and, for example, score a goal by throwing it himself. The goalkeeper may only go down on one or two knees or lie down in his own half of the field. The goalkeeper is not allowed to “milk” the ball in his hand with his feet, the field or the ceiling, but can only take possession again after a field player touches it. - The player must immediately collect the parts of the broken stick and take them to the substitution zone, where he can either take a spare stick or make a substitution.
- Players are allowed to come in for substitutions (10 seconds) only after goals and during penalty shots
- After a goal, there is a 3-second celebration break, followed by an immediate 10-second countdown, during which substitutions must be made (penalty shot as penalty for delay) * Interval 1 minute
4. PENALTIES – non-contact game
- A. MINOR FOUL: as in floorball
–> No immediate penalty, but the referee takes note of the fouls, as several minor fouls by the other team will result in a penalty shot (see point B) - B. CLEAR FOUL: as in floorball (especially body contact) –> Penalty shot:
* The field is cleared, after which the referee blows the whistle to signal the start. The ball is taken from the Boks Ball logo at the center line
* The ball must be in motion throughout the execution according to the Floorball Rules and may move in any direction, but the movement must be constantly heading towards the goal. If the above does not happen, a 10-second countdown and referee start will begin
* After a block/missed shot, the game will have a 10-second countdown
* The goalkeeper must be positioned before the player’s first touch in the goal area, but is then free to move anywhere in the field
* After a goal (Note: there is a “cool-off” period after the goal before the countdown) a 10-second countdown and referee start - C. PHYSICAL OFFENCE: which the referee interprets as a health risk not related to Boks Ball
–> Immediate sending off
